Release-specific review / Updated 20 October 2026
FARIS Toolkit 1.0:
what has been checked.
Information for users, BIM managers and IT reviewers. The package is unsigned. Limited checks have now run in Revit 2024.3 and 2025.5. They found a sleeve-placement failure and a browser-classification warning. Complete clean-install and command coverage remains unfinished.

Compatibility and trust
Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. Intended for Revit 2024 and Revit 2025 with update 2025.5. Other Revit versions are not supported by this package.
Unsigned: neither a trusted publisher identity nor a completed final-package Revit validation is claimed. Paid signing is deferred. If Windows or Revit warns about an unknown publisher, stop and review the package with your IT team. Keep security protections enabled.
Test evidence and its limits
| Check | Result | Scope |
|---|---|---|
| Version metadata, archive integrity and installer compilation | Passed | Applies only to the stated check. |
| Isolated installer TESTBUILD: clean install, upgrade and uninstall | Passed | Disposable test directory and registry key; not the production executable on a clean Windows machine. |
| Final packaged release: clean installation and commands in Revit 2024 | Failed limited check | Toolkit loaded in Revit 2024.3.60 on an existing workstation. A new Systems-template project returned 38 passed and 1 failed in Self-Test: sleeve placement was 54472.9 mm away. Linked-model case was not exercised. No clean-VM certification. |
| Final packaged release: clean installation and commands in Revit 2025.5 | Partially exercised | Installed package files verified. Revit 2025.5 build 25.5.0.57 loaded Toolkit 1.0. Project Setup: 5 created, 17 reused, 1 classification warning, 0 errors. Self-Test summary says 39 passed, but its linked-model case was not exercised. This was an existing Windows installation, not a clean VM. |
| Code-signature verification | Unavailable: unsigned | Applies only to the stated check. |
Historical Revit 2025.5 Self-Test reports did not exercise the linked-model case. Revit 2024.3 results predate final packaging. These historical reports do not establish that this exact package passes in Revit. The current limited check is listed separately above. The older 57-test source project is not a test of this release. Website tests verify website behaviour, not add-in correctness.
Observed in the current package
Revit 2024.3.60: Self-Test reported 38 passed and 1 failed. Sleeve placement reported an offset of 54472.9 mm. This may depend on the selected test family; the cause has not been established. Do not treat sleeve placement as validated. Both versions count an unexercised linked-model case as passed, so the raw summary overstates coverage.

On 20 October 2026, Project Setup Wizard created two floor plans, two browser parameters and one sheet in a disposable Revit 2025.5 model. It reused 17 items and reported one warning: no new views could be classified using the BMT parameters. The expected classification change did not complete. A step-by-step screenshot walkthrough shows the real preview and explains the reported result.
Known limitations
- Project Setup browser classification produced a warning in the recorded test. Inspect and fill the relevant view parameters manually where needed; do not assume classification succeeded because view creation succeeded.
- The matching add-in source project has not been recovered. This release relabels existing binaries and documentation; it is not a complete rebuild from matching source.
- Command method bodies were compared during relabeling. Only the version-display precision changed; this comparison is not functional validation.
- Project Setup creates the selected views and sheets. Placing views on sheets is a separate operation; Project Browser organisation needs manual configuration.
- Preview, confirmation and undo behaviour differ by command. Test on a saved model copy, especially for workshared or cloud projects.
- The installer has not been demonstrated to recover safely from every interrupted upgrade. Keep a separate backup before replacing an existing installation.

Install and evaluate
- Review this report, the user guide and your organisation's software policy.
- Close all Revit sessions. Back up any existing Toolkit bundle and settings before upgrading.
- Compare the downloaded installer hash above. Run it only after your organisation's review and approval.
- The per-user bundle is installed in
%AppData%\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\FarisToolkit.bundle. Settings are in%AppData%\FARIS Toolkit. - Open the supported Revit version and use a disposable model to check the FARIS TOOLS ribbon and the commands you need before working on production models.
Uninstall and rollback
Close Revit. In Windows Settings > Apps, uninstall FARIS Toolkit for Revit 2024-2025, or use Start menu > FARIS Toolkit > Uninstall. Settings, profiles, logs and reports are retained in %AppData%\FARIS Toolkit.
For a manual ZIP installation, close Revit and remove only the FarisToolkit.bundle folder you installed. Back it up first if you may need it again. Do not remove other Autodesk plug-ins.
Rollback is a manual recovery procedure: close Revit, uninstall this release, then reinstall a previously approved package or restore your backed-up bundle and settings. Avoid keeping duplicate registrations. No previous package is currently offered here as a verified rollback release. Uninstalling does not undo changes already saved in a Revit model; restore a model backup separately when needed.
